About the Practice

A quiet Ohio studio built around a simple idea: when the body feels safe, the mind will follow.

Anthony J. LeValle, founder of Lady Mesmer
Founder

Anthony J. LeValle

Anthony grew up in Lorain County and trained as a clinical hypnotherapist after a decade of working in emergency dispatch — a job that, he says, taught him more about the cost of unprocessed stress than any classroom could.

He completed his certification through the National Guild of Hypnotists in 2013 and went on to study Ericksonian methods, somatic relaxation, and trauma-informed care under teachers in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo. He opened Lady Mesmer in 2014.

Outside of the studio he keeps bees, restores old cassette decks, and reads — slowly, on purpose.

What We Believe

Four quiet principles

01

Slow is humane

Most clients arrive having been hurried by everyone — doctors, employers, family. We refuse, on principle, to add to that. Sessions are long and the calendar is intentionally underbooked.

02

Evidence over theatre

Hypnotherapy works. It is also widely misunderstood. We rely on published research, on conservative practice, and on the same boring respect for the nervous system that a good physical therapist shows the spine.

03

Plain language

You will never hear jargon at Lady Mesmer. If we cannot explain what we are about to do, in two sentences, in normal English, we will not do it.

04

Local and small, by design

We have never expanded, franchised, or hired a marketing firm. The practice is small because small lets us pay attention, and attention is the whole job.

The Studio

A small, warm room in North Ridgeville

The Lady Mesmer studio interior

The studio sits in a converted carriage house on a quiet residential street, ten minutes from I-90 and twenty-five from downtown Cleveland. Inside there is one chaise, one client chair, soft lamps, a kettle, and a record player. There is no front desk and no fluorescent lighting because we believe nobody has ever been calmed by either.

Free parking is available on the property. The studio is on a single ground level and is fully accessible. Service animals are welcome. We never overlap appointments, so you will not see another client in the building during your time with us.

Come see the room.

If you'd like to visit the studio before booking, you're welcome to. Just send a note.
